Ancient crocodile with moon and star

It's no secret that we love dinosaurs. Dinosaurs have fascinated us since our childhood. But they are by no means the only fascinating prehistoric creatures. Curtain up for the prehistoric crocodile! For a long time they were in the shadow of the dinosaurs, but unlike them, they survived the great meteorite impact and even took over the habitats that were created when the dinosaurs died out. And recently it was even discovered that some ancient crocodile species devoured entire dinosaurs. Pretty awesome.

Technology:

Tetrapak printing (also called milk carton printing) is a gravure printing technique. 

The elements to be depicted are created as depressions on a Tetrapak (inside) by removing material. For printing, ink is later applied to the entire plate, which is deposited in the grooves. The excess paint on the unprocessed area is removed again. The printing plate and paper are then pressed firmly together in a printing press and the ink is transferred. With this technology only very small runs can be achieved.

Our small studio in Basel consists of Si-yü Steuber and Susanna Filep. We have been working together since 2013 and are continually discovering new creative paths.

We paint plates and jugs, illustrate posters and postcards, as well as pins and badges. We also like homemade burgers, good design, awkward fonts and neon colors.
