The platform was created during the first COVID-19 lockdown and has become a network on which you can present yourself as an artist or discover and support local artists. We would like to offer artists in the fields of illustration, graphics, photography and design the opportunity to sell their products on our platform.

We would also like to use our network to make the general public aware of the talent that is available here in Switzerland and the diversity in this area. We want to bring our customers closer to the joy of handmade unique pieces, far away from the
general commercialized prints of the big, international distributors.

For the platform and the specific selection, we allow ourselves to take on curative interventions. We only take on the role of mediator and are the direct representative of the artist.

Who is behind this?

We as the Haus zur Ameise art collective also had to cancel all planned exhibitions in 2020. But we still wanted to get something going during this difficult time and give the artists a helping hand. From past exhibitions in our house at Augustinergasse 17 in St. Gallen, we knew that many of the artists had prints, maps and much more. have fast
we drummed up our environment and supportyourlocalartist.ch was born.

In the meantime, Samuel Ackermann and Dominik Rüegg have completely taken over and further developed the online platform.
