Poster A2

April 2018 poster

Salome Schmuki (*1979 St. Gallen) lives and works in St.Gallen and Bruxelles. She created the work “Cloud” for the 2018 monthly poster series. “Cloud” (2017) is a series of cartographic drawings that show subtle differences in an otherwise homogeneous structure. The areas are written in different ways and materialized through different technological processes. Salome Schmuki studies the structure and organization of language - the way written language is encoded and relationships or disruptions of the various aspects of perception and processes involved.

The St.Gallen Art Association has been promoting, collecting and communicating visual art since 1827. He was a key force behind the founding of the St.Gallen Art Museum in the 19th century and promotes fine art in the city and the St.Gallen region. With their annual contributions, its members directly support its activities and thus enable the preservation and development of a cultural identity.

With the monthly posters, the St.Gallen Art Association supports young regional artists by making their work visible in public spaces. Every year artists are commissioned to develop a subject for each of the twelve months of the year. The result will be printed on posters in A2 format and shown on poster columns in the St.Gallen city area on a monthly rotating basis.
