Poster A2

December poster 2021

For the monthly poster 2021, the artist Jiří Makovec gave the Kunstverein St.Gallen a series of twelve analogue photographs. Unpretentious and blunt, these are randomly captured situations that the artist encounters in everyday life. His preoccupation with analog photography is not so much one of documentary intent, nor does his work illustrate a fictitious mise-en-scène. Rather, the photographs follow a narrative of life.

The Kunstverein St.Gallen has been promoting, collecting and promoting fine arts since 1827. He was a key force behind the founding of the Kunstmuseum St.Gallen in the 19th century and promotes fine arts in the city and region of St.Gallen. With the annual contributions, its members directly support its activities and thus enable the preservation and development of a cultural identity.

With the monthly posters, the Kunstverein St.Gallen supports young regional artists by making their work visible in public space. Every year, artists are commissioned to develop a subject for each of the twelve months of the year. The result is printed on posters in A2 format and displayed on poster pillars in the city of St.Gallen on a monthly basis.
