Collection: Francesca Sanna

Francesca is an illustrator and picture book writer from Sardinia, currently living and drawing in Switzerland.

In 2012 she left her beloved island and moved first to Germany and then to Switzerland, where she studied design and illustration in Basel and Lucerne.

She completed her Masters in Design with a specialization in Illustration at the University of Applied Arts in Lucerne. She has also completed a summer residency at the School of Visual Arts in New York.

After graduating, she spent several months in London as a research associate at Birbeck University of London, where she worked on one of her books, Me and my Fear.

Her books have been translated into more than 15 languages ​​and her work has been recommended by The New York Times, The Guardian and The Wall Street Journal, among others.

For her picture books she was nominated for the German Children's Literature Prize, the Swiss Children's and Youth Media Prize and the Swiss Children's and Youth Book Prize.
