Description

“Prince and Lords is a success story which at the same time ironically twists this type of narration. The architect as an untouchable authority is taken off his pedestal. By portraying the star architects as teenage anti-heroes, they appear funny and human at the same time. Narrative role models are: South Park, the film "The Graduate", Hermann Hesse's "Unterm Rad" and Harry Potter. The main character Walter Fürst ends up going to a school where he is a stranger. We accompany his transformation from clueless to star architect.”

Narratively, "Prince and Gentlemen" expands the German-Swiss comic landscape beyond the Röstigraben. Standing in the Franco-Belgian tradition, the work achieves its artistic seriousness neither through a serious choice of subject nor through a dry form of appearance, but solely through the quality of the narrative, timing and legibility. Here the comic is paid homage to in its original form.

The work will be published by Berner Tintekilby Verlag in September 2022.

Graphic novels, comics
128 pages, four-color, hardcover 21 x 27 cm,
offset print on 120g/m2 Munken Pure paper
